They're not scammers, and if you feel as such they are usually pretty quick as far as responding to such claims and will work to make things right, at least from my own experiences. It is nice that can order just about anything in, and for free if it's in another store's inventory. A lot of it will depend on the store and what they stock though. Not to mention their in-house brands are getting better and more diverse. Selection wise, they actually have a really good spread these days, now that more boutique manufacturers are selling through them. Just look at some of the 10%, 15%, and even 20% off coupons they regularly send out. The fact that they're the largest musical instrument seller in the world means they can buy more from distributors and manufacturers and can in turn return some savings to the buyer. Pricing wise, they're just as good and in some cases better than most other reputable sellers out there, depending on what you're looking to buy of course. They have the same occasional customer service hangups as most retail chains of their size, for better or worse. I wouldn't say either of those things are par the course though. The only negative thing you hear about GC/MF is that their staff can be, at times, disinterested or less knowledgeable than they probably should be.
